MK z6 Bass and Audio Samples

The z6 was completed in Aug 2007.

Scale length: 34"

Wood

• Body: Brazilian Mahogany core, Birdseye maple cap (has some figure, quilt and a bit of colour to it, nice)
• Neck:
  • 3 piece Rock Maple, Wenge, Rock Maple
  • Also, with black and maple veneer below the fingerboard
  • Headstock black veneer line and Birdseye maple top (left over offcut from the body cap)
• Fingerboard: Bubinga
• Pickup covers: Rock Maple shell, black veneer, Bubinga top
• Control cavity cover: Brazilian Mahogany

Electronics

• Pickups: MK custom 6 string bass hum cancelling
• Preamp: Aguilar OBP-3
  • Vol, vol, mid push/pull (400Hz / 800Hz), bass/treble stack
  • Two parallel/single/series switches, one for each pickup
  • Active/passive switch

Hardware

• Tuners: Hipshot Ultra-lites
• Truss Rod: MK custom one way adjustable
• Bridge: Hipshot A-style (19mm string spacing)
• Frets: Wide, high
• Side Dot Markers: Mother of Perl, 1.5mm diameter
• Knobs: AllParts chrome
• Strap Locks: Schaller

Finish

• Nitrocellulose lacquer clear
